What We are Learning
Reading- We are currently entering our cycle 2 of English Language Arts. Cycle 2 consists of reading informational text. As we are reading our informational text, we will be covering how to find the main idea and using the main idea to summarize. We will looking at unfamiliar words and learning how to use our context clues to determine the meaning. We will be drawing conclusions from inferences that we make from our text. Writing- We will be learning to compose stories that are personal narratives, learning about how we write personal stories from our own life.
Math- As mathematicians are currently working on their problem solving skills, they are working on understanding multi-step word problems using unknown values in the problem. Scholars are also working on knowing key terms such as prime, composite, and factor, and multiples.
Science- Scientist are learning about contact forces. They are exploring how things move, gravity, friction, and change in Mass.
Social Studies- Citizens are learning about their home state of North Carolina. Currently students are working on researching and completing a brochure for a specific region of North Carolina. Exploring cultures, art, and activities for their assigned regions, students are learning about the state they live in!
